Andrew McCurdy, a featured photographer in the Ripzone Photo Series, traces his roots back to Ontario but now calls Ucluelet, BC, home. Growing up, he was deeply involved in snow sports, often clad in Ripzone gear during his snowboarding escapades. This early connection to Ripzone has come full circle, as we partnered with Andrew on a Graphic T showcasing his photographic work underwater, bridging his past with his present passion for capturing the ocean's beauty.
Captivated by the vibrant life and dynamic energy of the underwater world, Andrew aims to convey its essence through his photography. Despite his initial career path, as a Marine Biologist, he found his true calling in visually narrating the tranquility and vitality of marine life. Andrew's passion for underwater photography stems from his profound sense of belonging in the water, coupled with a desire to offer others a glimpse into this mesmerizing realm.
Living in Ucluelet provides Andrew with an endless well of inspiration. He finds solace and excitement in exploring the local waters, constantly uncovering new perspectives and scenes to capture through his lens. Despite his travels, Andrew's heart remains tethered to Ucluelet, where he finds unparalleled joy and fulfillment in immersing himself in its oceanic wonders.
